PORTLAND, OR — Michele Piscitelli presents The Rulebreakers a raw and compelling photographic exhibition that peers into the overlooked corners of Portland’s underground culture.
This series reveals the moments that live in the shadows — behind tinted car windows, in bathroom stalls, and on the streets before sunrise. Inspired by the grungy, non-conforming skater men of Portland, the work resists easy judgment, instead uncovering the beauty that coexists with what society deems “unsightly.”
Beyond shock value, The Rulebreakers explores the tension between rebellion and tenderness, thrill and restraint. It asks what it truly means to be “bad” — when freedom, sensation, and unfiltered enthusiasm dwell just beyond the boundary of control.
