BRING YOUR OWN TEAL, BLUE, OR GREEN SHIRT TO PRINT! We’re creating matching shirts and preparing testimony ahead of the Portland City Council’s May 13 hearing about the Bull Run Water Filtration Plant.
This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Together for an Affordable Portland (TAP) campaign, which is fighting for affordability, accountability, and alternatives that work for water treatment for all clients of the Portland Water Bureau, from Sandy to Portland.
We’re in favor of clean water, of course, but we are concerned about the impacts that a 9.8% annual water bill increase will have on many local residents who are living paycheck to paycheck. We see this as a significant, looming displacement issue for the Portland metro region. We’re also standing in solidarity with the rural and agricultural communities who are experiencing significant disruption to their lives due to the building of the Bull Run Water Filtration Plant.
