We all play a role in the network
Our Role
At ADX we offer Affordable Space, access to Expensive Tools, and Connection to a Community of Support. We provide affordable studio spaces, cheap access to a shared woodshop and inexpensive practice space for local musicians. We also provide a low priced event rental space and a 100% commission to the artist gallery space.
What is Your Role?
You teach, you sell, you gather. You create, you share space, you provide critical resources. You live here, you own your own business and you operate in a community with a neighborhood association, business association and maybe even a block party! So many people. So much creative energy and talent. Let’s keep our in person connections strong!
Together we have everything we need to keep each other supported!
The survey is a first step towards better understanding what we have and what we need. Share it far and wide and help us create a mutual aid network for our locally and independently owned web of creativity!
Portland is a town of creatives. We build, make, and create here. We create in community - our connections to one another are vital. Together we can make Portland’s interconnected web of creativity even stronger!
Who are we?
We are the Portland Creative Xchange Network (PCXN), a project of Art Design Xchange (ADX), Portland’s Creative Hub for over 14 years!
PCXN is a coalition of creative enterprises and support organizations with a shared goal of making Portland a place that nurtures and supports its locally owned creative economy.
Who should complete this survey?
Anyone who identifies as a creative! But we are especially interested in the experience of creatives who are trying to make a living from their work. The survey has 12 questions and should take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
What do we hope to learn?
We want to understand your experience of being a creative in Portland. What is working for you, what is not? Where is Portland’s creative ecosystem strong, where could it be stronger? What kinds of initiatives and policies might help our creative community?
How will my information be used?
Your anonymous survey responses will be analyzed by researchers from PSU’s Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning and results will be shared publicly by PCXN this Fall.
At the end of the survey, you will be given the option to provide your name and contact information if you would like the results shared with you, and if you wish to add yourself/your business as a supporter of the Portland Creative Xchange Network.
LET’S GET STARTED!
